For several years in a row, First Church in Cambridge has hosted a spring AWTT exhibit around Lenten and Easter themes. This year, First Church is hosting six portraits, from April 12 through May 17, 2026, titling the show: Eastertide Formation Series: Americans Who Tell the Truth. Each Sunday at 10 a.m., prior to their regular Sunday morning worship service, in Margaret Jewett Hall, the Christian Formation Committee will offer gatherings to closely study the portraits and take inspiration from the portrait subjects’ quotes and stories.

This year the committee has elected to focus on portraits of four creatives: artist Lily Yeh, singer/songwriter Reggie Harris, photographer Dorothea Lange, and AWTT’s recently created portrait of YA writer Rivera Sun.

“The Christian Formation Committee invites you, once again, to engage with portraits of truth tellers from Americans Who Tell the Truth, as we lean into the joy to be found in public activism and resistance. Join us for any or all of the four sessions dedicated to grounding ourselves in the stories of artists who use their creativity to illuminate our understanding of what is needed to bring peace and justice to our broken world. In these challenging, and often disheartening, times, come connect with the positive energy and courageous presence of these remarkable humans.”
