AWTT invites schools to partner with community businesses and organizations to sponsor month-long portrait exhibits for students.
Host eight AWTT portraits in your school for a month!
Spark your students’ curiosity, empathy, and critical thinking with AWTT’s Partnership Program. This program brings eight original AWTT portraits to your campus for a month. Being in the presence of these portraits for an extended time ignites students’ interest, courage, and action. Students are inspired to find their voices on issues they care about and explore ways to work for the common good.
For $3,000, your school can use AWTT’s portraits, narratives, and interdisciplinary resources to complement and contextualize curriculum work in multiple areas. Schools have funded this with local business partnerships, grants, GoFundMe pages, and other creative means.
Having this art allows students to look into the eyes of these portrait subjects, connecting these stories with science, social studies, language arts, and music, as well as providing a bridge between the classroom and the critical issues facing our world.

“The portraits sparked curiosity, empathy, and critical thinking. . . . Teachers reported some of the most meaningful classroom discussions of the year.”
