Nonviolence and the Transformative Power of the Arts
On September 22, 2025, at 7 p.m. ET, AWTT artist Robert Shetterly will join Brandon Bauer, Rosie Davila, and Becky McIntyre to talk about art and non-violence. The program kicks off a series of online panel discussions sponsored by Pax Christie International’s Catholic Non-Violence Iniatitive.
“How can visual arts be used as a tool for advancing non-violence and just peace in these troubling times? Our democracy is more fragile than ever; the defense budget is reaching one trillion dollars for the first time, while the conversion to a green economy has been abandoned.
“Our presenters will explore how visual artists can use their creative practice to highlight issues, denounce injustice, and inspire hope and action.”
This series of virtual programs is offered in collaboration with Pax Christi USA, Casa Esther and EcoProtection Alliance.
