Portrait Unveiling: Lucy Meyer
On March 25, 2026, Robert Shetterly will unveil his portrait of Lucy Meyer, an international advocate and spokesperson for young people with disabilities. The unveiling is a featured event of the Addison County Youth Citizen Summit, an all-day gathering in Middlebury, Vermont.
Sponsored by the Addison Central School District and Middlebury College, the Summit will bring together 135 sixth grade Addison County students for a variety of workshops that will encourage them to use their voices to make a difference for the common good.
Climate activist Bill McKibben will open the Summit with a keynote address. McKibben is the Schumann Distinguished Scholar in Environmental Studies at Middlebury; Shetterly painted his portrait in 2006.
Lucy Meyer will be the luncheon speaker, followed by the unveiling of her portrait.
Shetterly and AWTT Director of Education Connie Carter will offer a workshop “Use Your Voice and Make a Difference,” encouraging students to be inspired to find their voice and become changemakers.
