The Brewer Community School in Brewer, Maine has joined AWTT’s School Partnership Program. The school is hosting eight portraits during February and March 2026: Elizabeth Mumbet Freeman and Dolores Volk, Stephen Ritz, Dr. Mona Hanna, Samantha Smith, Bill Bigelow, Reggie Harris, Frances Crowe, and Harry Hay.

Middle school students are creating short videos for the school’s morning news show to introduce the portraits to the student body.  Once the students have “met” the portraits, they will become the focus for projects in a variety of classes.  They began by featuring a video about Robert Shetterly, the founding artist, and then followed with a video about Dr. Mona Hanna.
