Americans Who Tell the Truth Teacher Workshop
Come join us on November 20, 2024 for an interactive and inspiring workshop designed for educators who are passionate about promoting truth and integrity in the classroom with Americans Who Tell the Truth’s 270+ portraits of Truth Tellers. This in-person event will be held at the Bates Mill Complex. Learn how to use the AWTT lesson plans and how to integrate the over 270 portraits into your curriculum.

This session will include a panel discussion moderated by Rev. Benjamin Perry, author of Cry, Baby: Why Our Tears Matter. Panel members: AWTT artist Robert Shetterly; Maulian Dana, the Penobscot Nation’s first tribal ambassador and recently appointed as executive director of the Wabanaki Alliance; Caitlin Hutt, teacher at Troy Howard Middle School; and Nicholas Parker. (Parker’s piano piece, composed when he was in eighth grade at Reeds Brook Middle School in Hampden, was the impetus for starting the Samantha Smith Challenge; he now teaches in Portland.)
