A Conversation with George Washington: Featuring Robert Shetterly
AWTT artist Robert Shetterly will be visiting the ongoing portrait exhibit at Syracuse University’s Maxwell Hall on Friday, April 4, 2025. At 4 p.m. in the auditorium, Shetterly will hold a discussion about the exhibit and his most recent inspirations from the truth-telling portrait subjects. The exhibit surrounding the larger-than-life statue of George Washington in the Maxwell Foyer is titled A Conversation with George Washington. The collection of portraits “aims to foster constructive reflection on the inclusion of all Americans, offering opportunities for dialogue and learning to deepen our sense of civic engagement and citizenship—a central theme for the Maxwell community.”
This artist conversation is co-sponsored by Maxwell’s Campbell Public Affairs Institute, Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Maxwell’s History Department, and Maxwell’s Political Science Department.
