AWTT artist Robert Shetterly will join a diverse panel of compelling speakers at the 2023 One Planet Peace Forum, to be held October 6-8 at Green Acre on the Piscataqua River in Eliot, Maine.

Initially funded by grants from United Religions Initiative, and Maine Humanities Council, One Planet Peace Forum was created as an annual event to offer a universal platform for people of all backgrounds to co-create solutions to humanity’s most challenging issues. Its mission is to facilitate cooperative action toward building the future envisioned by the world’s spiritual and wisdom traditions.

This year’s theme, Foundations of Global Harmony and Planetary Peace, explores the questions:

  • Why is race amity a prerequisite to world peace?
  • How do inner harmony and fierce civility build peace?
  • How is truth telling foundational to peace?
  • How are contemplative and activist roles complementary in peacebuilding?

Joining Shetterly and other esteemed speakers will be peace educator Betty Burkes,  indigenous and human rights activist Sherri Mitchell, and climate justice activist Tim DeChristopher.  The weekend will include two hybrid sessions on Saturday afternoon that will be live streamed worldwide and a special world music celebration Saturday evening with Randy Armstrong and friends. Dr. Julie Krull, host of All Things Connected, will serve as moderator and emcee.
