SUMMARY:AWTT Portraits and McKibben Book Event
DESCRIPTION:The popular outdoor collection of AWTT portrait replicas ( https://americanswhotellthetruth.org/events/outdoor-installation-of-truth-tellers/ ) will be moved from the John Brown Farm to the Paul Smith’s College Visitor Interpretive Center (VIC) on November 2 and will be displayed there through the end of the month. The 28-portrait collection includes champions of racial equality – John Brown, Harriet Tubman, Alice P. Green, and Rev. Lennox Yearwood – as well as environmentalists, authors, and other famous and lesser-known truth tellers.\nOn November 21, portrait subject, author and climate activist Bill McKibben ( https://americanswhotellthetruth.org/portraits/bill-mckibben/ ) will speak about his new book Here Comes the Sun : A Last Chance for the Climate and a Fresh Chance for Civilization. Time TBA. All are encouraged to come to the VIC early and view Shetterly’s portraits.\nThe portrait exhibit and book event are free and open to all, though the John Brown Lives! organization welcomes a suggested donation of $5 per adult. These events are made possible in part with funding from the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and individual donors.\nFor more information, contact JBL! at info@johnbrownlives.org ( mailto:info@johnbrownlives.org ) or 518-744-7112.\n
