Sometimes,
It’s hard to make a good decision.
People around you
All doing wrong,
It’s hard to make a right.
It’s hard to speak up.

"What are we to think of those who are slyly anticipating stealing that radiance, co-opting it with the titillations of advertising, infecting it with fear, and addicting it to violence and cynicism? What are we to think of people who define patriotism as profit? Who, in a few years, would lie to my grandson to enlist him to murder those who stand in the way of that profit."

Van Jones captured my heart early on, at a Bioneers event. I follow his words, and his spirit. I'm not surprised that he was driven from his position in the WH. A mongrel with a tin can tied to his tail? I'm right there beside him with a tin can of my own, making music in the streets. I love the portrait you painted!

What exactly are the people in Iowa supposed to do about the coal trains passing thru their state? They don't own the trains. They don't own the tracks. They don't own the coal. They aren't going to consume the coal. They aren't destroying the environment to get the coal. Shouldn't you be addressing the end consumers in Chicago's apathy about the coal rather than the uninvolved simply waiting to let the train pass?

I had hoped that McCarthyism was over, but apparently human nature and mob rule being what it is, it is not. I applaud your fine work--please do not get rid of Van Jones. He is one of my heroes.

I can't believe you were in Tampa and did not let me know; how cruel. Lettuce Lake; we have so many natural habibtats. Losing Moses; the Bible is full of violence. We are a violent species. Finished reading all your 09 journal. Busy man.
